Sapokka Water Garden
Sapokka Water Garden is an oasis in the heart of Kotka. Located by the sea, this park entices travelers from afar to admire the beautiful views and relaxed atmosphere in Kotka.
The predominant feature of this park, beloved by both locals and visitors, is water: besides the nearby sea, it flows in small streams and ponds, as well as in a nearly 20-meter-high waterfall on the southern slope of the park.
In spring, the park bursts into bloom with tens of thousands of bulb flowers, continuing its colorful display until late autumn. In early summer, azaleas and rhododendrons bloom magnificently.
Experience the park at night as well – its unique and award-winning lighting comes to life after dusk. In winter, you can marvel at the frozen waterfall.
Sapokka Water Garden is Finland’s most awarded park. You can find it in the southern part of Kotkansaari, next to the Sapokka small boat harbor.
At the Sapokka small boat harbor, you can indulge in various restaurants and cafes, marvel at Finnish marine nature at the Maretarium Aquarium, go on a sea cruise, or rent equipment for various activities such as stand-up paddleboarding or cycling.
From Sapokka, you can conveniently walk or bike to Katariina Seaside Park and explore all the splendid parks of Kotkansaari with the Sculpture Promenade.
Warmly welcome to the glow of azaleas in our country’s most awarded park! In Sapokka, you’ll fall in love with Finland’s park capital!
