Virolahti Bunker Museum
The Bunker Museum in Virolahti presents the construction of Salpa Line in 1940-41 and 1944. The museum is part of the Bolt Line, war time bunker defense line, that reaches from the Gulf of Finland to Salla in northern Finland and field fortressed all the way to Arctic ocean.
The visual material of the exhibition takes you through the different stages of the construction of the Salpalinja and highlights the builders in their various works.
The various parts of the line of defense, such as the various graves, obstacles and dugouts, are comprehensively presented in the exhibition.
In the open-air museum area, the guided terrain route connects the sturdy reinforced concrete fortification equipment located between the canvas terrain and the marsh area.
